The first day of PHTT featured a range of speakers who introduced delegates to oral & dental wellbeing, as well as useful frameworks for developing public health interventions.
As the conference date nears, the PHTT proudly announces the fifth and final speaker: Mr. Thaddeus Stegall.
Mr. Stegall is a Residential College Director at NYU Abu Dhabi, overseeing student residential affairs in the first-year community of A2.
The 2017 PHTT Core Team is excited to announce our third speaker: Dr. Shiamaa Al Mashhadani. As a member of the Dental Services Department at the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Dr. Al Mashhadani has spearheaded the ‘Dubai Smiles Healthy’ initiative, and has also been involved in implementing the first oral health survey for the emirate of Dubai in 2013.
In 2010, a team of researchers approved by the Preventive Dentistry Section of the UAE’s Ministry of Health took the task of examining the dental status of 1,340 5-year old children around the country. This was the first study to take into account children from the 7 emirates, examining 6% of the total population of 5-year old kids from both private and state schools.
We announce with great pleasure that Dr. Manal Awad will be speaking at PHTT 2017. A professor at the Preventive and Restorative Dentistry department in the University of Sharjah, Dr. Manal is also the president-elect of the International Association for Dental Research, UAE Section.
